By now you have received my message about the 1911 Canada Census and the reference to the bride and groom being minors as having been written by the clergyman at the time of the marriage. The age of majority in 1894 is the question now.

I looked through the 1901 Census for a female child born September 1888 under surname of Wales and found one but her baptism entry was in Compton, her date of birth was 1 September 1888 followed by her baptism in October. Fannie Christina was born 9 September 1888. As well there were no female McKay children with a matching date in Quebec or in Glengarry Co., Ontario.

Have you tried writing to the Church where Fannie Christina was baptised to see if they have a record of an adoption? Perhaps they can offer you a direction to follow as the 93 years for privacy is well passed now.

Best wishes,

Doreen
