Subject: [QUEBEC] St. Foye and the people and the battle (KERR)

Hello,
A researcher on the KERR Board is looking for information about a Miss KERR
and Mr. ROBERTS who married in St. Foye in 1838. Out of curiousity,
I searched "St. Foye" and found out there was a "Battle of St. Foye" in
1760.
Then I found it mentioned in 2 on-line books about the history of Quebec:
http://books.google.com/books?id=16sOAAAAYAAJ&pg=RA1-PA179&lpg=RA1-PA179&dq=%22St.+Foye%22&source=bl&ots=vDvo6obntY&sig=kwxpTcCcoqyanvTe_efelaP_hIg&hl=en&ei=q1FlS8isDJXwlAeuw6GUCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CA0Q6AEwAzgK#v=onepage&q=%22St.%20Foye%22&f=false

I'm not finding a history of St. Foye, yet; it's probably part of the
history of Quebec City. But, there are references on-line to people being
born there during the late 1600's and marrying there in the early 1700's.
I see on this site that what is now Quebec City had major changes during the
1760's.

Any comments?

P.S. My KERR ancestors were part of a family-group which arrived in the
Prov. of Quebec in 1820's, but they settled in Argenteuil County. From
my 7 years of research on-line, I found out that KERR's arriving from 1800
to 1850 settled in 3 different areas of the Province - Argenteuil County
and in the Eastern Townships (Richmond and New Port, etc.). I don't
remember reading about KERR's in the City of Quebec.
