Hi Margie:

I have good reason to suspect that there was at least one mistake in the
data I sent you ealier "as received" from someone else. One part read:

"(B) Médéric GAGNON and Virginie NADEAU (dau. of Charles NADEAU & Angèle
LAPORTE) were maried 5 July 1871 in St-Alphonse-de-Ligori, Qc."

Since that couple seemigly lived in St-Liguori de Montcalm acc. to the 1881
Canadian Census, that thatref. above to "St-Alphonse-de-Ligori" could b e
erroneous; St-Alphonse-de-Ligori is quite different from St-Liguori.

As you have noted, the same census data list Médéris as "Fragile", a
surname I have never seen, but the children do correspond to those of
Médéric and Virginie.

Regards,

JP

In an effort to assist you with your Lionel GAGNON, I placed an enquiry on
a WEBSITE specializing in GAGNONs. Here is part of the answer I received (I
will sent you another message shortly about the rest of it). Note that I
have of course not checked that data, and I therefore give it to you “as
received”.

(A) Lionel GAGNON’s parents were Médéric GAGNON (born April 1848 in
St-Jacques-de-l’Achigan, Quebec, Canada; d. on 8 May 1928 inStafford
Spring, CT) and Virginie NADEAU (born 1851 of Charles NADEAU & Angèle LAPORTE).

(C) They had the following children:
-Arthur-Georges, born 2 July 1892 [note: a typo here? ; was it 1872?];
died 6 Jan 1954 in Mount Kisco, NY.
- Flora, born 1876.
- Emma; she married a Leo GAGNON.
- Ida; she married a Walter GOYETTE.
- Eugenia; she married a Edward-Francis DEMPSEY in Strattord, Conn.
- Edward-Francis; born in 1881 in Ireland [USA?]
- Angelica-Florista; she married one Ephrem GOYETTE (son of Gilbert
GOTYETTE & Helen FISHER, on 4 July 1874.
- Amos Gagnon
- Eugene
- Joseph
- Clémentine
- Leonide-Adonias
- Hermas
- Amabilis; born 15 June 1873 in Ste-Julienne, Qc.
- Leon (or is it Lionel?; also called Médéric); born 7 Nov 1878 in
Ste-Julienne, Qc; died in 1970 in Worcester, NH.; was married to Ellen
DUCHARME 12 May 1913 in Concord, NH. Ellen was born in 1886
in Barrington, NH; she died in 1953 in Worcester, NH.

(D) This GAGNON/DUCHARME couple had the following children:
- Edward
- Helen
- Elsie
- Leo
- Alice

I hope the above will be usefull.
