Hello Roger;

There are three contracts in Le Parchemin which is a site
managed by the Chambre des notaires du Québec (cdnq). It allows a person
to check for notarial contracts up to about 1780 in some instances.

The URL is:

The first one identifies Charles as the son of Pierre, deceased and
Marguerite Tessier. The others also should help identify him. That settles
the question of who are the parents of Charles. The name to use is Arel,
not Harel.

I wasn't able to find anything for his wife in LeParchemion, nor for her
father.

However, if I were you, I'd go back to the PRDH and just type in Marguerite
Badaillac and see if she comes up in any type of situation. You might find
that she was a witness or a godmother at a marriage, funeral or baptism,
with her relationship to the subject explained. Say she was the aunt at
the baptism of a child of a Badaillac and you are ableto find that
particular wedding, with the parents listed, then voilà, you have it. If
that name doesn't work, try Marguerite Laplante.

Good luck

Frank
