My pet project is to complete my maternal geneology on the GUIMONDS of
Quebec. Like John Kovac I am also a decendant of Louis GUIMOND. My branch
left Canada and settled first in Bourbonnais IL then Cloud County KS and on
to Faribault MN. The interesting thing is that I am also working on my
husband's family the LAVOIE's of Quebec. I found out that the GUIMONDs and
LAVOIEs were neighbors in 1640. There has also been at least one crossing
of the lines prior to our crossing.
I hope to compile this into an electronic database for the families.
I will then move on to my paternal side the KUSTER / NOLL branch from
Saskatchewan and North Dakota.
