Subject: [QUEBEC] Location of St. Jean/Johns
Date: Sun, 11 Jun 2000 14:13:02 -0400
My ggg grandparents Joseph Tyzack/Tysick & Margaret Cross were married in
St.Andrews Presbyterian Church in Quebec City in 1808. also their first two
children Maria & Harriet were baptized there.
A place called St. Jean or St. John(s) keeps cropping up in other records.
Does anyone know where this St. Johns would be relative to Quebec City??
I believe Joseph could have been in the "naval artillery" during this time
and possibly Margaret's father was also in some branch of the services.
I believe the Cross surname was originally Cairncross.
Hope someone can help me out on this
Thanks , Virginia
