Subject: [QUEBEC] Gelinas Data

I recently extracted the following from a recent message and sent it to a
couple of Gelinas researchers, asking them if they had the data indicated in
the "extract":

<< << Now, to really throw a curve and probably non relevant, this same
repertory (Les Vieilles.......) shows a Jean-Baptiste Gelinas taking as a
second wife
a Josephte Gauthier on 21 Nov 1803 at Yamachiche. On 24 Oct 1816 a daughter,
Theotiste-Ursule was baptized in Yamachiche and married in 1836 to Louis
Vaillancourt. >> >>

Here a reply received from one of them ... for anyone who may be interested:
<< Salut, Theotiste and Ursule are different people. Marcel >>

Here's the reply from the second Gelinas researcher:
<< Hello Henri,
The info that I have on Ursule Gelinas is that she was married to Maxime
Gagnon in 1840. Ursule sister was Theotiste who was married to Louis
Vaillancourt on Jul. 4, 1836 in Yamachiche. Ursule father was married to
Rosalie Hardy (1st marriage) on Apr. 13, 1792. His 2nd marriage was to
Josephte Gauthier on Nov. 11, 1803 in Yamachiche.
Have you ever been to Yamachiche. There is a monument there that was
erected in 1903 to celebrate the 200 years of the founding of this town. On
this monument are the 3 Gelinas brothers who were the first settlers in 1703.
Someday I will find this monument and take pictures of it. I love history
especially dealing with the family.
Thank you for the info Henri. I don't come across Lanouette often but
when I do, I will save you the info. I wish you a bonsoir. Bob Gelinas >>

God bless you, my friend, your family, ancestors and descendants!
bcnu, Henri, le "frog" Lanouette (Some call me "Pépère")
