>From the Northern NY Genealogy Soc, a question:

Craig LAPINE, is looking for the parents of his great-great grandmother,
Emma DUPEE (Dupuis). She was born in Champlain on September 20, 1862 and
baptized at St. Mary's on September 30, 1862. She first married Alexander
LAFOUNTAIN who was much older than she. They had at least 3 children; Oscar,
Anna and Alexander Jr., prior to his death on October 10, 1891 at Champlain.
She then married Peter LAPINE who was also much older. They had at least 8
children; Lucy, Louise, Gideon, Frederick, Rosanna, Henry, Raymond and
Arthur. After Peter died on February 26, 1913, she married Moses BOURCIER on
September 26, 1916 at Mooers Forks which is a mystery marriage as no one
seems to recall this husband, but Craig has found the marriage record. To
add to the mystery, the 1920 census lists Emma as living with her husband
Peter who had died 7 years earlier. After Moses died, she married Joseph
DUSHANE (Duchene) at Mooers on June 29, 1922. Emma was much older than
Joseph and he outlived her. Emma died at Perrys Mills on June 6, 1942.

Emma's baptism and death record gives her parents as Louis DUPEE and Louise
DUPEE. Her obituary also gives a sister, Mrs. Joseph IVES, who was Angeline
DUPEE. She was born at Champlain on AprIL 19, 1880 and died in Plattsburgh
on March 14, 1955. Angeline had first been married to Henry CARDINAL.
Angeline's death certificate lists her parents as Louis DUPEE and Louise
LAROE (Lareau). After some digging, Craig found Louise had married Alfred
LAROE at Champlain on November 20, 1886. He also found Alfred and Louise in
the 1892 New York State census living at Champlain with a daughter from her
marriage to Louise. Her name was Amelia and she was born about 1878.
Louise's age on this census indicates she was born in Quebec about 1847. I
have not been able to find any record of Louis and Louise DUPEE, the parents
of Emma, Amelia and Angeline, anywhere. I have also seen Louis listed as
Oliver DUPEE on Angeline's marriage record to Henry CARDINAL. Does anyone
have any information to help him get through this brick wall?
