I know of the 1880 US Census but did not know his record in the 1890 Census survived. I understand the majority of the 1890 Census burned in a fire. That might be nice one to find.
I am trying to link Joseph Forsher and Jonas Latour. Finding information about Joseph Forshar is far easier because his son John Nelson Forshar was included in the book I mentioned last time. He married Winnifred Linderman in Yonkers. His sister Agnes is easy too because she married a lawyer and future Congressman named George Porterfield McCallum in 1899. I even stumbled a recently uploaded article about their "secret marriage."

It is worth noting the 1900 Census says only two of their four children were still living, and it turns out neither of those two children were married in Michigan. John married in New York and Agnes somewhere in Ohio. Negaunee, Marquette, Michigan, USA
On the other hand, Joseph Forge married Mary Ann Fagan on 10 Sep 1872 in Negaunee, Marquette, Michigan, USA. The only things I saw on that record are the names of the couple, where they live, the witnesses, what state they were born, and by whom they were married. There is nothing on their parents.
I strongly suspect Joseph Forshar and Jonas Latour dit Forget are the same person but where can I look for the missing piece?
