The entry for the marriage in case someone would like to view, is at Notre-Dame-de-Montreal - 1867 - LDS PILOT Image 65 of 926 but the words in question are difficult to read.
I suspect that the reference to "impediment" may refer to John Miller being Anglican and Bridget being Catholique. They appear in the 1881 Canada Census with 2 children in Ste-Mary's Ward, Montreal, Montreal, Quebec
