I am trying to find out more info on Jean-Baptiste GALERNAU. In my notes
(which I gathered ages ago and do not have the source) I have Jean-Baptiste
GALARNEAU (s/o Jacques GALERNAU & Marguerite PANNETON) adopted a metis son,
Joseph GALERNEAU (m. 1772 St-Augustin, Qc. to Marie-Marguerite BERNARD, d/o
Charles & Marie-Charlotte SEVIGNY). Said Joseph was supposedly b. in the
Detroit area, supposedly the son of Jacques GALERNAU (husband of Jacqueline
HERON and grand parents of Jean-Baptiste the father of the adoptee).

Has anyone done more research into this family and can add anything or
correct assumptions? Thanks, Jim LaLone.
