Phonetically, for a non-French speaker whose native tongue is English:
«Helene Desportes» is pronounced: A as in acre, LEN as in lend (without the
D) -- stress on the second syllable. DAY as in day, PORT as in port --
stress on the second syllable. *A*-*LEN* *DAY*-*PORT*.
