A poem my husband wrote in 1980. . ..

Out on the edge of Bethlehem,
A small town in the Middle East,
Was born a special little one
Who gave us all this feast.

There was no room within that town,
Nor anyone there who knew
That the very person they turned down
Was the One and Only
Who had the power to change this world:
The time, the dates, the ways;
To heal our hearts, our minds and souls
Give us new life each day.

His Name of course is Jesus,
The One whom God had sent
To share His love and Kingdom
His forgiveness to present.

So, as we celebrate this day:
The birth of His Special One,
Let us give thanks and praise
For everything that Jesus has done.
