I searched the French Heritage DNA web site and the project's mtDNA page on
FamilyTreeDNA.com and did not find any test results for Auneau or Aunois.
If your cousin does get tested, will you please ask her to consider posting
anonymous results at http://frenchdna.org/?
Jeanne Auneau was my 9th great-grandmother. According to Gagné, she was a

Subject: [Q-R] origin of Jeanne Auneau m 1646 Pierre Lefebvre
I've been tracing my father's maternal line and have his oldest direct
maternal ancestor as Jeanne Auneau m abt 1846 Tois-Riviers Pierre Lefebvre.
A google search showed several mentions of her being First Nation. Is
anyone aware of any mtDNA testing done for this line? Should I try to talk
my cousin (daughter of my father's sister) into being tested? If she agrees
to be tested, what would be best to have done?
