Doreen & Mari:
I believe that when Edward ELLICE purchased land(s) in very early
Quebec (ca 1790+/-) & the Seignoiries (i.e. Beauharnois) were
established that he named one particular area Annesfield/Annestown.
I *think* that I have ref to this name **somewhere** in my many
documents/papers etc re my Quebec research re my people
who settled Norton Creek ca 1809 but have no idea where/how to
put my finger on this info @ the moment.
Sorry that I cannot be of more help but the Ellice papers might help.
