Fran,
You are not going to find those notarial records on the Drouin records. So many of them were written by Antoine Adhemar and Jean Baptiste Adhemar out of Montreal, among others, but these notaries are not part of the collection.
This collection has much later notaries, for the most part, although some of the 17th century and early 18th are there.
The documents are listed by notary last name and then the years for which they have records. It has not been indexed to identify the persons involved in the records. Some of the records include hand-written indexes, but they are very hard to read.
I know... I was disappointed, too. I've had to continue to order copies from the archives for the records you are seeking.

I realized I left out a vital part of my message
I'm trying to find notory records at ANCESTRY.CA in the Quebec Notarial Records (Drouin
Collection), 1647-1942 but can't seem to hit on the correct method of searching - or they
are not there - hard to believe as the first 6 generations were all voyageurs & land
owners. I have tried putting in the surname of the person for whom I am researching but
nothing comes up. Should I be searching by the Notary's name & time frame?
Any helpful hints would be appreciated,
Fran
