One more source you could use is The Filles du Roi, 1663-1673 by Peter J.
Gagne. According to this book (volume two) Jean Elie dit Breton was born c
1621 in Meneac (arrondissement of Vannes, diocese of Saint-Malo, Brittany)
the son of Jean ELIE and Jeanne MUSNIER. He was widowed by Jacquette
CHORRET before coming to Canada about 1667-68. Luella, if you would like
further details from this entry, let me know - I don't want to post it all
here and take away your pleasure at finding these things out yourself -
however, I'm happy to share if you're unable to access this book.
