Did some quick searches and didn't come up with anything either, other than a son Thomas was born in 1814 at Ste-Therese in Terrebonne and the mothers name was listed as Susanne Dumoulin. Thought I would send along, just another spelling of the name. It would appear that they moved around a little bit.
Regards,
Phil

I believe he is the son of Joseph Gamelin and Marguerite Renou Lachapelle, married 8 Sept 1749, St-François-du-Lac, and who had their children baptised at Notre-Dame, Quebec and brother of Michel Launiere/Gamelin who married Marie-Josephe Duchesneau/Brassard
