Subject: [Q-R] Could DeMarce also be Demars or Demers?
Date: Fri, 8 May 2009 05:27:35 -0700 (PDT)
My great grandmother was a Demars in Greensboro, VT. She married Alfred Anair in 1890's
I see a Godfried Hoffman, private, in the Hesse-Hanau Regiment Erbprinz in
John Merz's book, "The Hessians of Quebec". It doesn't give
information but one of the sources is Virginia DeMarce's book, "German
Military Settlers in Canada" and she sometimes included marriage info.
Are you coming to the Quebec Questers on Saturday? I'll bring the Merz
and I believe the DeMarce book is in the BCGS library.

Subject: [Q-R] Godfried/Godfrey HOFFMAN and Frederica Carolina someone
Marriage mid 1700's
I am looking for the marriage of these two people, probably around 1770-80,
possibly in Quebec City. Their daughter Frederica Carolina HOFFMAN was
baptized in the Anglican Cathedral Holy Trinity Church in Quebec city in
1796. Godfrey was a shoemaker and died 1803 at the age of 58. Frederica
Carolina senior died 1810 at age of 53.
Any information greatly appreciated.
