I have found a contract of marriage between George S Dale and Annie McCallum on 20 Apr 1881. Notaire. Henry Charles Austin. Ref CN301,S290 and Numero de l'acte 7730.
I wonder if someone can explain what this all means! I have been tracing for many years, but have no knowledge of Canadian resources (nor French).
Would it be possible that when George S Dale died in 1907 this notaire would have proved his will and if so, can I find a copy of the will?
He was a master mariner from England and had a son from previous marriage in England, also a master mariner, so think he would have left a will. Although he died at Brooklyn N.Y. he was Harbour Master there, he was buried at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal.
