Hello Dick,

Bromton is probably referring to the Township which includes communities of
Bromptonville and St. Denis de Brompton. Valcourt is almost due west of
there less than 50km (30 miles) I'd say.

Lots of Jeanson events for that area in Drouin in that period. Will need
more digging.

I have found a Gilbert and Maggie Jeanson 1911 Melbourne, Brompton Gore
census with a daughter Elizabeth, age 12, born Nov 1899 and older children
as well. Gilbert born Apr 1861 and Maggie b. Jun 1875. The eldest child,
son Arcill was born Mar 1890 and Mary born Jun 1896. Maggie seems too young
to be the mother of Arcill but the marriage could be as early as 1895

1896 Valcourt (St. Joseph d'Ely) baptism of Marie Louise Jeanson (b. 18
JUN), parents Gilbert Jeanson and Marie Palardi of Brompton

1891 Valcourt (St. Joseph d'Ely) baptism of Joseph Gilbert b. 27 MAR,
parents Gilbert Jeanson and Marguerite Palardy.

1913 burial of Gilbert Jeanson, age 53, in Racine which is very close to
Valcourt. Spouse of Marguerite Palardy of that parish. Also present was
son Achill and brother in law Napoleon Fontaine

1913 (JAN 20) Racine marriage of Joseph Gilbert Achille Jeanson, son of
Gilbert Jeanson and Marguerite Palardy

1865 birth of Marguerite Palardie in Granby (Notre Dame) very hard to read.

But no marriage for Gilbert Jeanson and Marguerite Palardy anywhere with
many spelling variations tried. That's it for now but maybe more later.

I am looking for the marriage of Gilbert Jeanson and Marguerite Paradis.
They have a daughter Elisabeth being baptised Nov 25, 1899 in St. Joseph de
Eli, Valcourt. They are listed as being from Brompton. Where is Brompton
in regards to Valcourt?
