Have you tried searching the census for him?
 
Where is Napanee, Maine?  I could not find it, only a Napanee, Ontario.

Hello Gabe,
I noticed recent postings regarding Maine archives.? My Samuel Osborne Davis
was born in Ireland and emigrated to Quebec about 1842.? His first born son
William Osborne Davis was born in Ireland about 1838 and left Quebec for
Napanee, Maine.
I don't know when he went to Maine but after 1851 and I would think after
1856 when he would be 18.? Would you be able to find a wife and children for
him, maybe even a death?? Thank you.
