Genealogical Society plans worknight at Wayside Cemetery
(javascript: openEmailWindow();) The Blue Hills
Genealogical Society-Barron County will hold a work night at the Wayside Cemetery in
Barron on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. All those wishing to help should wear
work gloves and bring sidewalk chalk, scrub brushes, and digital cameras if
they have them. Meet at the old cemetery building. The Society will be
photographing and transcribing the tombstones in a section of the old cemetery.
The Society has been working on photographing tombstones of Barron County
cemeteries and has gathered information on many of them. To see what
information is available, go to the Society website at www.rootsweb.com/~wibhgsbc.
Pictures of tombstones and transcripts may be ordered from the Society.
The Blue Hills Genealogical Society-Barron County meets the second Mondays
of the month, usually in Room 110 of the Barron Courthouse at 6:30 p.m. unless
otherwise advertised. The May meeting is at Wayside Cemetery.
The Society maintains a resource room in Room 108 of the Barron Courthouse
that is open to the public Mondays from 1-4 p.m.
Anyone wishing to donate materials of a genealogical nature to the Society
please contact Carol Gehler at 234-1894.
