I checked some of the existing Drouin records that I have and was able to
track them by the names. Not sure they have everything up yet but what a boon
this will be.
Wish they had posted some sort of announcement but a big THANK You for
calling our attention to this.
In a message dated 4/14/2008 8:16:01 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,
I think the reason the Drouin was "down" on Ancestry.ca is that they updated
the ability to access Drouin without having the name of the location /
For the first time I have been able to search by surname and have found a
number of records in the Gaspe, Hull and Ottawa area that I have never been
able to access before.
If you do a surname search under the heading "Historical Records", hits now
appears for Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967
and Ontario French Catholic Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1747-1967.
I have not seen this before.
