my old 1903 Fr-Eng dic. says a
minot = 39 litres
Googles says
1 US peck = 8.809768 litre
1 US bushel = 35.239072 litre
The Imperial bushel is 36.369 litres
It is the British bushel and is commonly used by Canadian producers

Subject: [Q-R] Minot

I have 2 inventories of all the personal belongings and land and debts of my
ancestors. They were farmers. Would anyone know if in 1852 in Grande Ligne,
Quebec, just south of Montreal, if a minot is equivalent to a bushel or a
peck. There is a huge difference. I was thinking it was a bushel but have
just been told it might be a peck.
Thanks
Peggy G.
