There is a huge amount of info on the Viau dit L'esperance family on Google and the son Jacques you refer to had two marriages and 16 children, so he certainly did his bit to populate the new country.

There are many, many entries as well on Rootsweb's World Connect site a couple of which offer the names of Gratienne's parents as Pierre Forget and Jeanne Boullain. Another entry offers that her birth was in 1615, Bretagne, France and her death was 21 January 1669/70 in La Trinité-de-Clisson, Nantes, Bretagne, FR.

The 1666 Census of Montreal shows that Magdeleine Martin, d/o Abraham Martin dit L'Écossais & Marguerite Langlois was married to a Forget and Les Grands Familles shows this:

Madeleine Martin
b 13-09-1640 Québec
s 22-02-1688 Lachenaie

You likely will have to search in France to find a connection between Paul Forget and Pierre Forget.

See the following site for the 1666 Montreal census and entry for Forget at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~louislarocque/recensm.htm#A4

Nicolas Forget, dit Despatits 44 Habitant
Magdelaine Martin 25 Épouse
Jacques Forget 4 Fils
