Hi Father John L,

So my understanding would be that it was a so small area that it was called a mission (which has nothing to do with an indian territory).

Merci beaucoup.

The Drouin Collection records of the marriage of Pierre Nadeau &
Eleonore Nadeau [M 7] and of Albert Cote and Marie-Louise Tremblay [M8]
record parties and parents as being "de cette mission" [from this
mission] and the priest signs his own name "A. Bouillon, ptre-miss".
But, the marriage record of Joseph Deschamps & Caroline Cote [M9]
records parties and parents as being "de cette paroisse" [from this
parish], and Father Bouillon signs his name "A Bouillon, ptre-curé".

My conclusion -- sauf correction! -- is that some time between August
28, 1906, when the Nadeau-Nadeau and Cote-Tremblay marriages were
solemnized, and September 18, 1906, when the Deschamps -Cote marriage
was celebrated, the mission of St-Eusebe was raised to the rank of
parish, and Father Bouillon from priest-missionary, to priest-pastor.

Fr John L
