Flavie Daigneault born on May 29, 1824 was the child of Michel Daigneau
and Marie Anne Perras. It is this Flavie Daigneault who is listed on
the same 1901 St-Philippe census page as Ludger, Julienne and their
children, and who gives her birth date as May 29, 1824. She does have
a sister Euphrosine, who was born on August 20, 1827, and who was
married to Xavier Lefebvre. If Ludger was born to the Flavie of 1824,
the husband of his aunt Euphrosine, present at Ludger's wedding, would
be called his uncle. If Ludger were the son of Euphrosine, Xavier
would be called his "beau-pere" [stepfather], not his uncle. This is
further evidence that Ludger's mother is the unmarried Flavie of 1824.

Hi Father John L and others,

For those interested with this thread, here is where I stand today and
a theory
about my Flavie Daigneault, (borned either 28 mai 1824 from Charles &
Cecila
Payant) or the Flavie (borned in dec. 1824 from Michel & Marie-Anne
Perras).

Father John you have copied, for the benefit of all of us, the wedding
contract
for Ludger Daigneault and Julienne Hebert (see below).

I noted that the witness for Ludger was Xavier (Francois-Xavier)
Lefebvre. So it
means there is a Francois-Xavier Lefebvre who married into Flavie
Daigneault's
family i.e. brother or sister or ????

Today I went to St-Philippe and talk to a lady, a kind of a specialist
of the
genealogy and history for St-Philippe. Mrs Claire Deneault (G- child to
Ludger)
was with me.

Over the conversation it was brought up that Euphrosine was sometime
changed to
Flavie in real life. In other word even if they were borned with the
Euphrosine
name they were called Flavie or vice-versa. This was new to me.

Now back to the Francois-Xavier Lefebvre. Who was he?

In the repertoire des mariages du Comte de Laprairie there is a
Francois-Xavier
Lefebvre married to Euphrosine Daigneault in St-Philippe on Feb. 28th
1865. This
Euphrosine is the daughter of.......SURPRISE!!! Michel Daigneault and
Marie-Anne
Perras.

Could this be the Flavie Daigneault, mother to Ludger Daigneault who
was then
PRESENT at the wedding of her son Ludger and Francois-Xavier Lefevre
was then
called Uncle instead of beau-pere/ father in-law?

If this is not the case, then it could void the Flavie/ Euphrosine
being the
daughter to Michel & Marie-Anne Perras and leaves us with the Flavie
being the
daughter to Charles & Cecile Payant.

Homework suggested to do:

1- Can anybody find a marriage of a Flavie/ Euphrosine Daigneault,
daughter of
Charles Daigneault (Cecile Payant) or a Euphrosine Daigneault daughter
to Michel
Daigneault (Marie-Anne Perras)? Then it should consolidate the other
Flavie as
being the mother to Ludger (if Flavie never married). Here I am
assuming that
the other Flavie never got married.

2- Is there a real Euphrosine baptism, daughter to Michel Daigneault &
Marie-Anne Perras? Then she would be Flavie's sister and there this
Francois-Xavier Lefebvre would be her uncle at the wedding......

3- By the way I cannot find any other child to Michel Daigneault &
Marie-Anne
Perras in Laprairie or Comte de Laprairie. Am I blind?

Any suggestions or comments?

Thank you

Florent Coache

C'est bien possible, mon cher, mais qui aurait cru qu'un simple curé de
campagne soit tellement astucieux?

Hi Father John L

Could it be in relation with Ludger not mentionning HIS parents?

Father John L

Can you have a look at this marriage. I am not sure I can read properly
after the name of Julienne Hebert and her parents what is written. Is
there
anything there significant?

Thanks

Florent
