Hi Doreen,
Thanks for all your info. Actually I have been in contact with the Robert
McLeod and it appears our families match.
But I am wanting to confirm it with info on the birth parents of Annie.
Also I am a bit confused about the mother Rosie Webster as Robert McLeod in
his research is calling the mother Rosa Ann Lowe (Webster) so I am trying in
my own research to sort that out. The 1901 census that you show is the
correct family - Annie is not listed as she is already married at that time
to Ernest Conley ( I cannot find them in the 1901 census but are in the 1911
census)
Am I totally confusing you?? I am confused myself.
Anyway it all gets down to the fact that I am trying to confirm the parents
of Annie, born in January 1876.
thanks so much for your help!!
Barb

Hi Barbara:
Of the three entries for Annie McLeod listed in the 1881 Census for Compton
county that I previously sent you, only one is living in Bury. That one is
noted as being the daughter of Angus K. McLeod and Rosie Webster,
Presbyterian religion.
There is no Presbyterian church listed in Drouin for Bury in that
timeframe, although there are churches for United, Methodist and a Church of
England in Bury/Lingwick. There is a Presbyterian church in Lingwick, but
Drouin only shows records for 1849, '51, '52, '53. In short, there is no
Presbyterian Church close to Bury for that 1876/77 period in order to look
for a baptism.
Meanwhile Angus K. McLeod is listed in the 1901 Census as a widower with
some of his children, as follows:
1901 Census of Canada Page Information
District: QU COMPTON (#150)
Subdistrict: Bury B-1 Page 4
Details: Schedule 1 Microfilm T-6519
McLeod Angus K M Head W Jun 15 1843 57
McLeod John C M Son S Sep 8 1877 22
McLeod Alice F Daughter S Nov 1 1879 21
McLeod Kenneth M Son S Dec 3 1881 19
McLeod Ida F Daughter S May 24 1884 16
McLeod Mu?d? M Son S Dec 22 1886 14
McLeod Willard M Son S Mar 30 1890
NB; the above census entry is flagged at John C. and Mu?d (Murdo?) with a
note that John C. is grandfather of Robert McLeod and that Murdo is brother
of John C.

Cheers!
Doreen
