Hi Doreen,
thanks for the info.
Actually I am trying to positively link the info on the 1881 census showing
child Annie McLeod and father Angus K McLeod and mother?? Rosie Webster to
my Annie Conley ( McLeod) born January 1876 as shown on the 1911 census.

any hints as to how to get Annie's birth records??

The 1881 Canada Census shows the following three entries in Compton county:

1881 Canadian Census - 3

1. Annie MCLEOD - 1881 Canadian Census / Quebec
Gender: Female Birth: Quebec

2. Anna Bella MCLEOD - 1881 Canadian Census / Quebec
Gender: Female Birth: Quebec

3. Annie MCLEOD - 1881 Canadian Census / Quebec
Gender: Female Birth: Quebec
