Subject: [Q-R] question about affinity & dispensation
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2007 12:00:36 -0400
In the marriage record I asked about yesterday,
the information written in the margin said the marriage
was rehabilitated about 3 months later when there was
later discovered to be a fourth degree of affinity between
the couple.
I want to be sure I am on the right track here. Does this
mean there was some relationship by marriage between
the groom & bride at the generation of their great grandparents?
Also, this was a second marriage for the groom. Is it
possible the relationship was between his first wife's family
and the second wife's family?
I'm trying to figure out where I need to look to find the
connection.
Thanks,
Lisa
