I am researching a family by the name of Ranger who may have lived in the province of Quebec in about 1800. Baptiste Ranger was born about 1798, married Sarah Shepard Matthews in New York State (USA) about 1827 and died in Russell, NY, USA in 1875. He was first listed on the US Federal census in 1830 at 32 yoa having had one child in 1829. I have no information on his birth family or where he may have been born.
