You show the marriage of Sébastien and Louise as having taken place on
the 1st of February, 1703, in the parish of Saint-Pierre de Sorel. There
is a problem with that.
Sébastien and Louise appear in front of Michel Le PAILLEUR, on the 1st
of December 1703, in Montreal, for the purpose of the drafting of their
marriage contract. This means they would have married on or after that
date, most likely in Montréal where both of them appear to have been
living at the time.
Do you have a copy of that Sorel marriage record. I have looked at the
records but did not find it.
> Hi Everyone
> Thanks for all the input. I have found that Elisabeth de Rainville is also the sister of Louise! As well as the name of her mother Elisabeth de La Gueripiere. The record of marriages from Sorel that I have a copy of claims Louise married to Sebastien.
> As to the death of the son Jean Baptiste I found a record of him dying Mackinac Island, Michigan on Aug 1, 1754. it was found in the Wisconsin Collection. It lists many of the early upper Michigan records.
