My stumbling block is Joseph Martineau. I am not sure about his middle
name...family members say he was Joseph Joseph, then birth records for his
son Joseph says Joseph F. Jr. Any help with this would be appreciated...I
would be happy to share the down lines of Joseph.
Thank you, Anna Martineau Merritt

Joseph Martineau, born 18 Mar 1837 in Levis Canada; died 1908 in
Superior, WI. He was the son of ? Martineau. He married Marguerite
LeMieux 02 Jan 1868 in Douglas County, WI. Census records state that Joseph
became a citizen in 1850.
Marguerite LeMieux, born 30 Jan 1849 in LaPointe, WI; died 04 Jan
1940 in Superior, WI. She was the daughter of Francois John Baptiste
LeMieux (sometimes called La/LeSuisse, Suice) and Isabelle Chlotilde
O-Saw-Gee.

Thought for the day:
The Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about the battle that goes on
inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two Wolves inside us
all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth,
compassion and faith." The grandson thought about that for a moment then
asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?" The grandfather simply replied,
"The one you feed." ~ unknown
