Hello Darlene and all,

Part of the fun you will have in locating Antoine's family is that he is
not a HUS but a NUS. And his children went by the name of LAVENTURE.

Even the PRDH, which tends to clump together same sounding names, has
him listed as Antoine NUS LAVENTURE married in 1733 to Anne FOURNEAU
BRINDAMOUR. She was the daughter of Jean FOURNEAU dit BRINDAMOUR a
soldier in the Noyan Company.

This Antoine NUS was a "menuisier". In all the documents I have found
which concern him, his name is always either NUS or LAVENTURE.

Could it be his way of differentiating himself from the Sorel "HUS dit
..." clan ? Quite possibly. But I think that the folks at PRDH would
have picked up on it and called him HUS if it were the case.

Cheers,

Mona
