Thanks for the Louis Hebert Cliff's Notes!

For some of us, a translation of the comments of Champlain might be in order:

Champlain speaks of the work of Louis Hebert in Quebec: "I visited the sites, and found the land cultivated, planted, filled with good wheat; the gardens filled with plants of all sorts: cabbage, radish, lettuce; purslane, sorrel, parsley and other herbs; pumpkins, cucumbers, melons, peas, beans and other vegetables quite as good and just as ripe as in France."
