Paper Making Timeline
1919 IP subsidiary started construction of a paper mill at Three Rivers, Quebec.

As for the English vs French spelling, even the Library of Parliment is split on
this on it's website:
http://www.parl.gc.ca/information/about/people/house/mps_plus.asp?lang=E

LANGEVIN, Hector-Louis 1891.03.05 Conservative Richelieu, Quebec Elected
Resignation.
Elected for Trois-Rivières and for Richelieu. Chose to sit for Trois-Rivières.
Conservative Three Rivers, Quebec Elected
{However, viewing the same site in French the spelling is all the same, in
French)

Then there is the aircraft manufacturer located in Three Rivers:
Three Rivers, Quebec - July 13, 2004 - The future is bright for the Symphony
line of aircraft. After nearly seven months of hard work, all the pieces are
now in place for Symphony Aircraft Industries (SAI) to move forward with the
Symphony line of aircraft.. . .
The first Symphony 160s produced in Canada should roll off the Three Rivers
production line in late November or early December.

So, although our genealogy searches will usually be for Trois Rivieres, the
English-
speakers in Quebec DO call it Three Rivers. As for my research, it will always
be in
Trois Rivieres because that is what it is always called in parish records.
