"The Roman Emperor Vitellius (15-69AD) was such a glutton that he used to
stick a feather down his throat between courses to make him puke, so that he
could keep on eating. The Imperial Navy spent most of its time searching the
seas for rare ingredients for his bizarre culinary creations, including pheasant
brains, pike livers, and flamingo tongues. At one of his banquets more than
2,000 fish and 7,000 birds were on the menu. He eventually gave up being
emperor so he could spend even more time pigging out." (odd, no mention of
desert?)
