researcher's to compare notes with. Funny how one post - will

Your file 's match mine - except for mistake ( a bad one ) in
name of ( Not so - Marie-Angelique was NOT the daughter of Nicolas
TRUDEL & BarbeTARDIF. She was the daughter of Nicolas TRUDEL & CLAIRE
TARDIF,
sister of Barbe TARDIF. Claire & Barbe were the daughters of Guillaume
TARDIF and Marguerite-Marie GODIN. ) Strange that this fact has not
shown up in all
these years. Much appreciate you sending me this info .

Leopold’s Military ( dit ) or ( aka ) name was “ Bellefluer “ The term "dit" is the equivalent of "also known as" (a.k.a.) in English. These were the ( dit ) names given to the recruits at the time of hazing and were the only names used officially for soldiers while in the army. Only the officers down to enspassade level kept their real names. It was a form of identification . Much like our( military dog tags ) .

ADDED NOTES : Some children born from a Military father : kept the ( dit
or aka ) name. Thus you will have many broken families, from the
original family name : Such is the case, with the decedents of some in
this Rémy Family.

Canada Died : Unknown
He married: Marie Desanges Godu : 3 October 1808 in Beloeil, QC,
daughter of Augustin Godu and M Véronneau.
She was Born : February 18 1787 in Beloiel, Quebec and Died : abt. 1852

I have also sceen the name ( Bellehumeur ) as the Military dit for
Leopold Remy ( 1 ) But, this has to be incorrect info - * Unless some
one can
explain this spelling . and why ?
