Hello Gail.
Arquebuse is Arquebus or Harquebus. It an early type of gun: it was very
heavy and awkward, the gunner aften used a fork stick to support the barrel
whily aiming.
Usually, the gunner applied a slow burning piece of cord or fuse to light
the charge which propelled the shot.
