"During the French Revolution 12,000 German aristocrats swept into France to
aid their beleaguered French counterparts. Each German warrior was attended by
at least two servants. Unfortunately for the Germans, they were annihilated

"The Great Peace Rebellion, fought in China from 1851 to 1864, claimed
between 20 and 30 million lives. The rebellion pitted troops of the Manchu
government against peasant sympathizers of the Southern Ming Dynasty led by the
deranged Hung Hsiu Ch'uan, who believed himself the younger brother of Jesus Christ.
The peasants lost, but they did secure a place in the record books. (Well,
goody)
