Normand E. Breton
BRETON, Normand E. Normand E. Breton, 72, of East Windsor, husband of
Deborah "Deb" (Lane) Breton, left this world after a long illness for the
place God prepared for him early Tuesday, (April 27, 2004). He was born
April 7, 1932, grew up in the Deerfield section of Windsor, and graduated
from Windsor High School. During the Korean War he served his country in the
U. S. Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. Normand was
active as a baseball coach, trumpet player and banjo strummer, and raised
his family of five boys in Windsor Locks with the love of sports and music.
He was a leader in the machining industry, made many advances, and passed
his innovative technics on to four of his sons who now use them to make
their livelihood. His oldest son made a career in the U.S. Air Force,
serving his country for 26 years. Normand met and married Deb and they
became inseparable. Normand never failed to express how much he loved and
cherished Deb, and loved Deb's family very much. They loved him in return,
and showed that love in remarkable ways, as Normand battled his illness.
Besides his wife Deb, he leaves five sons, Louis and his wife, Lolita of
Texas, Michael and his wife, Phyllis of Coventry, Jeffrey and his wife,
Gloria of Windsor Locks, Richard and his wife, Laura of Enfield and Joel and
his wife, JoAnne of Windsor Locks; 13 grandchildren; three great
grandchildren; a sister, Joan Kroll of East Hartford; and many nieces and
nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 11 a.m. in the
chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor.
Burial to follow in the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with Military
Honors. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday,
from 10-11 a.m. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American
Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004 .
