"King George lll, his actual name was George William Fredrick, King of
Great Britain and Ireland.
He was born June 4, 1783 in London. As a young boy he did not get much
schooling because of family quarrels and an ignorant, overbearing mother. later
on, his political advisors were his tutors.
At the age of twenty-two he was crowned and forced to take the throne. He
was strong minded and determined king. He wanted to rule his way, under his
terms, so he created the Crown Patronage.
He agreed with the actions of the British in the American war for
independence and became popular with the English. His chief contributions to the
English throne were to regain the royal powers that were lost to the crown by his
grandfather, George ll, and his great-grandfather because of their differences.
Because of this regaining of power, he broke the power of the Whig Party.
Great Britain lost the control of the American colonists because of
mistakes the king and his Prime Minister made.
In 1788, he became insane. The madness reoccurred every couple of years
until 1808, when he became blind. He died Jan. 29, 1820. Its now known the king
had a disease called Porphyry."
