I found a baptism for Marie Julienne Mercier 12 July 1810 St-Louis
Lotbinere d/o Joseph Mercier & Marie Elisabeth Guillemet. (This is a
copy of the original record the hand writing is too nice and the paper
seems to have lines FHC) I can find no baptismal record for a son Julien
who married Annette Dupis 30 Aug. 1837 at St-Jean-Baptiste
Deschaillons. IT was suggested that my Marie was a son not a daughter.
The record list her godparents as Augustin Mercier and Marie Julienne
Lemai. I don't think they would name a boy after his godmother. So I am
leaning to 2 children. Julien the son being born between 1815 and 1820.
Also couldn't find a death date for Marie Elisabeth in the parish
record. I don't think they moved as he had other children born of the
Louise Rousseau in the same parish.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Even suggestions on where to look.
Is there an original copy at some archive that I can get?
