Good evening Emma,
Do you have a date for Pierre Therrien? Or his children's names would help.
I have a few Pierre Therrien in my family tree, if you can give me more
information, maybe I have Pierre's wife's name etc.
Or where Pierre Therrien lived?

Dear cousin Emma,

It's never easy, and sometimes it is impossible. And when it happens, it is
the result of (a) good investigative techniques and (b) good luck (mostly the
latter).

Let me offer one example:

My 5G-Grandfather, Pierre-Amable Baret-Courville, married my 5G-Grandmother,
Marie-Josephe Catin, at St-Constant, Laprairie, on 11 Feb 1760.
Pierre-Amable's parents were Pierre Baret-Courville and Marie
Caille-Biscornet. Pierre-Amable was born at Laprairie, on 14 Sep 1736 and
baptised there the
same day by Messire Desligneris (B-122820). Marie-Josephe's parents are not
mentioned. The Genealogical Dictionary indicates that she is illegitimate.
born about 1837.

Without going into all the details of examining family records in the
Genealogical Dictionary and the Vital Records sections of PRDH, I learned
that the
only family name common to both Pierre-Amable and Marie-Josephe's witnesses
at
the wedding is Gagné. Then I found that the baptismal record of
Pierre-Amable,
son of Pierre-Amable and Marie-Josephe, lists his mother's family name as
Gagné. Further research led to the conclusion that Marie-Josephe was the
daughter of Marie-Louise Gagné, who was the daughter of François Gagné and
Marie-Madeleine Dupuy-Parisien. I also learned that her father was Pierre
Achim-St
André, who later married Agnès Baret-Courville, sister of Pierre (father of
Pierre-Amable).

It's a very interesting family. ;- D
