Hi all,
I received This message and wanted to bring it to your attention. The
following is disturbing news. I don't have a copy of the article as yet
just this notice but when and if I receive it, I will post it. In the
meantime, this will give you a gist of what is occuring here in Quebec and
possibly elsewhere in Canada.
I'm sorry this is in french.....and hopefully some of you will be able to
read it.

J'ai reçu d'un ami un article qui a parut dans le journal de l'Église de
St-Jean, Longueuil - Actualité Diocésaire. L'évêque Mgr Jacques Berthelet
C.S.V. vient d'émettre un décret appuyé par de nombreux évêques sur la
confidentialité et la protection des registres paroissiaux (baptêmes,
marriages, funérailles et sépultures).

Si vous désirez lire l'extrait, cela me fera plaisir de vous le faire
parvenir. Je crois que si c'est appliqué, la généalogie subira un dure
coup.
