One of the problems with using the ASCII symbols is that they often do not
translate well to the Q-R list or other e-mail lists and we wind up with a sort
of GIGO. Especially if you use Digest mode, and the archives.

I use most symbols in private mail and my FTM but try to remember to NOT use
them when doing postings. The same applies to using the ASCII for indicating
fractions in recipes, as some have complained about.
