Subject: [Q-R] OT- getting the º symbol in recipes
Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2003 13:31:32 -0700
I've received a dozen requests for how to get the º symbol
There are three ways with a Windows computer...
1. Hold down the <ALT> key and type in 167 on the numeric keypad.
Let go of the <Alt> key and the symbol/letter will appear.
2. Hold down the <ALT> key and type in 0186 on the numeric keypad.
Let go of the <Alt> key and the symbol/letter will appear.
3. Load the Character Map and click on the symbol/letter you want.
To load the Character Map with Win95 > WinME
A. Click on START
B. Click on PROGRAMS
C. Click on ACCESSORIES
D. Click on SYSTEM TOOLS
E. Click on CHARACTER MAP
F. Double-Click on the character you want.
G. The choose COPY
H. Go to your document and place your cursor where you want the symbol.
I. Then click on EDIT at the top of your window and then PASTE... OR... the
fastest way to paste it is to place your cursor where you want the symbol
and then hold down <Ctrl> and press V.
I prefer using methods 1 or 2 (above) than the Character Map. They're a lot
faster.
