BERTRAND J. PINARD BURLINGTON - Bertrand J. Pinard, 82, of Burlington died
Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, after a short illness, in the Vermont Respite House
in Williston. He was born in Cookshire, Quebec, on Jan. 15, 1921, the son of
the late Arthur and Mary Rose (Brunelle) Pinard. He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. He married Dorothy Flibottle on June 9, 1945. Bert
worked for General Electric for more than 30 years as a planner. He was a
member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester. Bert was an avid golfer
and a member of the Williston Country Club. He was a volunteer for Meals on
Wheels. Bert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Pinard of
Burlington; his five children, Ronald Pinard and his wife, Sharyn, of
Milton, Diane Desautels and her husband, David, of Essex Junction, Sandra
Veino and her husband, Bruce, of Huntington, Janet Lamb and her husband,
Edward, of Milton, Debra De Ruyck and her companion, James Tome, of Ilinois;
12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Giselle Brunelle and
her husband, Eugene, of Winooski, and Marcelle Shaw of Winooski; and several
nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday,
Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester. Interment
will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse
Association, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vt. 05446, or to the American
Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 13 Loomis St, Montpelier, Vt. 05602.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at the LaVigne
Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.
