So true! We have the same situation here in Québec, especially since the Separation
issue! (I'll stop politics right here...promise!)

I should also add that saying to be French-Canadian also implies a sense of
belonging. Often a strong feeling -- in the lines of "Les Patriotes".
BTW, yesterday, the Quebec government declared that the May 25th Holiday (celebrated
as being Victoria Day in the rest of Canada and in Québec as "La fête de Dollard")
will be one to commemorate the Patriotes (Delorimier, Papineau, etc..)

Ah... AND: Bonne Sainte-Catherine aux célibataires!
